environment
Why would a little kid scampering about on a mound of plastic bottles in the slums of Dhaka be of interest to readers in the UK? Or a teenager stripping apart old computers for copper wire in Accra? A Bangladeshi family having to move home for the umpteenth time because of rising seas? These were the types of questions I always had to ask when writing up my observations from a visit to a developing nation. I relished the challenge, and was glad to put the environment on the front pages during my time at the Daily Mirror.
